NOW PLAYING: National Tropical Botanical Garden Channel
User Info
Recognizing a great public need existed to save tropical plants under threat of extinction, the U.S. Congress granted a charter to NTBG to serve that need as a private not-for-profit organization.
NTBG now consists of five gardens, five preserves, programs in field exploration, scientific research, conservation, habitat restoration, and education.
The mission of the National Tropical Botanical Garden is to enrich life through discovery, scientific research, conservation, and education by perpetuating the survival of plants, ecosystems, and cultural knowledge of tropical regions.
